Day Hiking to Jones Gap
Students will be able to see the Upstate in a new way as they conquer this mountain. They will lead themselves up the trail, with our team there to help them along the way.

Kayaking at Croft State Park
This afternoon will be spent learning the basics of flatwater kayaking, while enjoying the nature of Spartanburg and having a blast on the water.

Introduction to Rock Climbing
Students will spend an afternoon learning the basics of rock climbing at Climb Upstate indoor gym. They will get to try out different routes and push themselves to the top.

Our Impact
By working with local experts and guides, these students will be exposed to outdoor activities through safe and fun expeditions. They will push themselves and test their limits. By collaborating with other students, they will learn communication and leadership skills while enhancing their personal responsibility and self-awareness. In addition, they will be having fun in a encouraging environment. The impact from these experiences will stay with them throughout their lives.
Our Motivation
Many high school students in Spartanburg are not given the opportunity to appreciate and benefit from the outdoor adventures offered right in their area. Outdoors in the Upstate is working to change that.
